The AgriSETA Learnership Programme is a national skills development initiative aimed at empowering South Africa’s youth to thrive in the agriculture and food production sector.

Backed by the Agriculture Sector Education and Training Authority (AgriSETA), the programme equips participants with both practical farm skills and industry-recognized training, turning unemployed youth into confident, employable agricultural professionals—or even future farm owners.

Programme Goals

The main objectives of AgriSETA Learnerships are to:

  • Provide hands-on, real-world farming experience
  • Help unemployed youth build sustainable careers in agriculture
  • Encourage entrepreneurship by teaching how to run a small farm or agri-business
